  Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection
ICSI has proven to be beneficial in cases of male factor infertility, where sperm counts are very low or fertilization was a prior factor with IVF attempts.

A micromanipulation technique, ICSI involves gently placing a single sperm directly into the egg. While there appears to be no increase in congenital abnormalities in the offspring with this procedure, unexplained or genetic factors in the semen cannot always be overcome.
